Stress and anxiety have grown to epidemic proportions in our society.  Statistics say that anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults in the United States age 18 and older (18.1% of U.S. population)1.   65% of Americans lose sleep because of stress while 32% report losing sleep at least one night a week.2   Beyond sleeping disorders, stress contributes to heart disease, high blood pressure, strokes, and other illnesses in many individuals. 3 

With all these statistics to reinforce the damaging effects of stress, you need to know that stress is not your friend.  In fact, God wants you to live a completely worry-free life.  Now I know that sounds absurd or even incredulous.  Worry free, is that even possible?  Friend, it is not only possible, it is God’s will for your life!  The Lord desires for you to be anxious for nothing at all. (Philippians 4:6-7)
