Four Areas of Christian Growth
The Christian Growth Network is built on the precept that God wants every one of his children to grow in their faith specifically in four areas.
The first area of growth is that of growing up. God desires us his children to mature and to grow into the image and likeness of His son.
"For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." Romans 8:29
The second area of growth is that of growing out. The purpose of our lives is not found in ourselves. We were made by God to serve others and to help people come to know the Lord for themselves.
"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
Matthew 28:18-19
The third area of growth is that of growing deeper. Growing Deeper means we are to draw closer to God and to know Him more intimately.
"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts you double-minded." James 5:8
The final area of growth, but by no means the least important, is growing together. As Christians we are not to live alone, but are called to help other Christians grow in their faith and find support from other believers for our life.
"As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend."
Proverbs 27:17
